Mending Basics- Dealing with Stains

Mending Basics- Dealing with Stains

Mending isn’t just repairing tears and holes.  Often when a garment gets a stain the choice is donate, throw away or hang in the closet.  No matter how much we love it because we don’t know how to remove or fix the stain. The technique we’re sharing in this tutorial  is making patches or appliques with fabric cut outs, embroidery and beads that not only cover stains but add personality and life to your wardrobe.  It’s authentic #fashion fixing.

Materials needed-

Fabric with bold shapes to cut out (flowers, whales, rainbows, etc)

Good sharp scissors for “fussy” cutting

Double sided interfacing

Embroidery thread

Needle

Beads

Our first video is inspiration- lots and lots of ideas and examples of adding applique or fancy patches to your loved garments.
